Job Title: OSP (Outside Plant) Technician - FIBER Reports To: Foreman/Project Manager *VETERANS ENCOURAGED TO APPLY* Overview: FieldLink is a network infrastructure staffing company helping people find rewarding careers in the Telecom and Low Voltage Industry. We are hiring for OSP (Outside Plant) Fiber Technician to work in Des Moines, IA. This position is a contract-to-hire joining a growing team with continued industry training and significant room for a career path. *This role is physically demanding and requires work to be done in varying weather conditions. *** Job Responsibilities: This position will be responsible to regularly perform Outside Plant work along with maintenance and other activities. Installation and maintenance of outside plant fiber network to include construction elements such as conduit, fiber, splice domes, and cabinets. Pulling cable in multiple settings (manholes, vaults, and trenches). Connects and rearranges buried copper and fiber optic cable facilities in buildings utilizing hand tools and specialized equipment. Operates power equipment such as pumps, compressors, and power plants (generators). Read and follow blueprints set for installation. Follow written and oral communication displaying professionalism with colleagues and management. Follow safety guidelines and protocols (Proper PPE, clean up jobsite, OSHA). Job Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalency. 0-2 years of commercial Data Center OSP experience. Active OSHA 10 preferred. Confined Spaces Training Will be trained onsite. Physical Requirement: Must be able to work on a ladder and heights of over 20ft, lift up to 75 pounds, and move up to 100 pounds. Must be able to stand, bend, squat, walk, move, lift, carry equipment (> 50lb) for the duration of the workday. Able to work outside in varying weather conditions Tools:** Basic Hand Tools: screwdriver (multi-Bit), tape measure, snips, pliers (needle nose and channel locks), flashlight, work boots (steel toe or composite toe) gloves and tool pouch.
