Civil Engineer

We currently have an opening for a Civil Engineer. The qualified candidate will plan, design, and direct civil engineering projects of a more complex nature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Budget estimates, cost control, and schedule for assigned tasks and/or projects.
• Calculate cost and determine feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data.
• Prepare or direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, installation schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for projects.
• Work with and/or coordinate the program effort with other individuals within or outside the Group. This may involve utilities, affected stakeholders, community relations and information reps.
• Use computer assisted engineering and design (CAD) software and equipment such as Civil 3D, MicroStation, and gravity flow and pressure flow modeling software.
• Use working knowledge of hydrology and hydraulic modeling to develop sustainable solutions for storm water flows, and sewer and potable water flows relative to assigned projects.
• Assist in training of staff.
• Participate in the preparation of engineering proposals including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Make oral presentations to clients and/or organizations.
• Actively involved in building client relationships and market identity.
• Specialization in land development engineering.
• Understanding of land development entitlement process.
• Understanding of land development application process from initial submittal through the construction phase.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• A minimum of 4 years' experience in municipal type infrastructure projects.
• Must have a valid certificate of registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in CA.
• A master's degree in a related field is preferable, as are certificates in storm water management or a QSP/QSD.
