Job Summary: Provides support to past, current and future Military and Veterans Affairs students. In addition, provides training, processing and reporting according to best practice and federal/state requirements. This position is also responsible for student registration, benefit verification, certification and payment disbursement for all Department of Defense, Veterans Affairs and associated benefit programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years experience.*
*Or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Licensing Requirements: Valid Driver's License

Hiring Range: $51,488 - $65,648

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of VA Enrollment Management
Knowledge of Army Ignited System
Knowledge of Air Force AI Portal System
Knowledge of Banner/Ellucian

Job Specific Task List:



  • Creates a climate of engagement for military and veteran students that supports persistence, retention, and graduation; travels to all HACC campuses to provide support related to department functions and activities. - (Essential)
  • Processes and submits enrollment certification for all veteran students; advises veteran, active duty, and dependent students regarding military benefits and how to apply; advises veterans and other eligible students of the impact on the veterans education benefits and the potential financial aid consequences of dropping or withdrawing from courses. - (Essential)
  • Serves as office manger and assists with the supervision and training of department student workers; maintains files in accordance with PA Department of Education/State Approving Agency (SAA) and Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) policies and procedures; creates and monitors statistical information relating to all department functions. - (Essential)
  • Manages the college's Chapter 31 veteran program in cooperation with the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors of the DVA and related HACC departments - (Essential)
  • Works collaboratively with all college departments that provide services to support student success; assists with outreach activities of recently released veterans and recently admitted veteran students; coordinates outreach with local guard and reserve military units. - (Essential)
  • Process payments for all Department of Defense and Veteran Affairs education programs including but not limited to: All chapters of the GI-Bill, Federal Tuition assistance and PA National Guard benefits. - (Essential)
  • Performs other duties as assigned. - (Standard)
