Shift differential $ 1.30 per hour for working 2nd or 3rd Shift


GENERAL SUMMARY

The Material Handling and Receiving position is a critical support function in the manufacturing of quality products that meet customer requirements and is a union position. This position reports to the Production Supervisor in the assigned work area. Material Handlers and Receivers are responsible for performing activities outlined below.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

Receiving

  • Receive, Sort and Put Away Parts and Materials
  • Verify material, part number and description received against the packing list.
  • Move material requiring "Maintain Approval" to Receiving Inspection "RDOC".
  • Move returned merchandise to Receiving Inspection "RDOC".
  • Notify Purchasing/Buyer of any discrepancies.
  • Barcode and/or identify parts.
  • Perform "Put Away" transactions.


General Material Handling

  • Catalog, Transport and Locate Materials Throughout the Plant
  • Perform necessary inventory transactions.
  • Consolidate inventory locations of the same part number.
  • Barcode and/or identify parts.


Shipping Material Handling

  • Pick and Pull Orders for Staging and Shipping per the Picking List (see Pink Sheet)
  • Move Finished Product From Final Paint to Storage Locations
  • Scan/transfer products to storage locations.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Preferred background in manufacturing of products.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Bending, reaching, handling, lifting and walking when performing tasks.

Operating hoists, hand trucks, forklifts, bar code scanner.

Minimal typing/data entry.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Handling and transporting materials and parts throughout the plant.

Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including: ear plugs, gloves, safety shoes, safety glasses and other PPE depending on the task.

Employees are expected to work with all third part visitors (e.g. vendors, inspectors, liaisons, auditors, visitors in a professional manner).
