Location: Clifton Park, NY 12065
Worksite: 9542 Route 146, Suite 200, Clifton Park, NY
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM, and every other Saturday, 7:00 AM-12:30 PM
Duration: 3 months
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to join the laboratory team in Clifton Park, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience performing venipunctures, collecting and processing specimens, maintaining accurate patient records, and following laboratory safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Perform blood draws using straight and butterfly needles.
Collect, label, centrifuge, separate, and store specimens according to established procedures.
Verify patient information, laboratory requisitions, physician orders, and specimen labels for accuracy.
Explain blood collection and other specimen collection procedures to patients in a clear and professional manner.
Package specimens for transportation and maintain proper storage temperatures to preserve specimen integrity.
Update patient information and maintain accurate documentation and equipment maintenance records.
Clean and decontaminate equipment and work areas in accordance with laboratory protocols.
Follow OSHA, DEP, and other applicable laboratory safety regulations.
Answer telephone inquiries and communicate laboratory results as authorized.
Assist with troubleshooting, training, and workflow improvement recommendations.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting.
2-4 years of relevant experience preferred or as required by the hiring team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid state phlebotomy certification, where required.
Additional Requirements
Must be available to work the specified weekday schedule and every other Saturday.
Must be comfortable working onsite in a stationary, non-float position.
Must meet the required MMR, Varicella, TB, and flu vaccination requirements.
Must complete the required color vision test.
Assignment Details
