Customer Service Representative

Hudson Garbage, a Waste Connections comapny,is looking for a high energy & positive mindedCustomer ServiceRepresentative/Scale House Attendantto join our team in St. Helens, OR.

Schedule isMonday - Friday

Shift is8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Starting rate of pay is$22.88/Hour

Safety Sensitive: No

This is a hybrid position:

• CSR-3 days weekly
• Transfer Station Scale House Attendant 2-days weekly

CSR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work in conjunction with other departments to resolve customer disputes & demonstrate ability to become proficient in the use of proprietary operational systems.
• Interview customers and record information into computer forcustomer service, talk with customers by phone and in person, receive orders for installation, discontinuance, or change in service.
• Fill out contract forms, determine charges for service requested, collect deposits, prepare change of address records and issue discontinuance orders.
• Demonstrate effective use of software applications, at a minimumMS Wordand Excel proficient.
• Deliver services to customers in a manner that promotes goodwill.
• Interact with customers and Waste Connections employees to determine service requirements and resolve problems or complaints in a courteous manner.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, cooperative,high call volumeenvironment with very detailed expectations. Average call volume is 35-45 calls/shift.
• Solicit sale of new or additional services.

TRANSFER STATION SCALE HOUSE ATTENDANT DUTIES:

• Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the transfer station.

• Balancing the cash register & reconciling the credit card machine or POS system.

• Weigh trucks entering and leaving the transfer station & calculate total payments for customers based on items disposed of.

• Track weight information from scale to computer system.

• Ensure that incoming garbage loads are safe.
• Ensure that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Work environment is in an office & transfer station setting.
• Areas are clean, ventilated, and well lighted.
• OurCustomer ServiceRepresentatives normally have their own workstation or cubicle space and are equipped with a telephone, headset, and computer.
• All calls are recorded for quality assurance and some calls are evaluated to ensure the highest standards.
• Long periods spent sitting,typing, or looking at a computer screen are very common.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
• High school diploma or equivalentpreferred.
• Minimum of 2-years ofCustomer Serviceexperience in a high call volume atmosphere preferred.
• Proficient experience withMS Word, Excel, andEmail.
• Typingand10-keyskills are required.
• Minimum typing speed of 35 WPM required.
• Must have excellentorganizationand communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems, gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
