Location: Remote (PST Prefered)

Duration: 6 months with possibility to extend

Must-Have Skills?:


  • Experience with developing evaluated machine learning models - particularly classification models Experience building or supporting ML systems in production environments
  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, Go, or similar).
  • Experience building, testing, and maintaining production-quality software.
  • Experience with common development practices and tools (e.g., version control, code review, CI/CD).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.



Nice-to-have Skills

  • Experience at Meta would be preferred Or, experience at similar companies such as Google, Apple, Uber, Netflix etc.


Years of Experience: 3+ years of professional software engineering experience

Degrees/Certifications Required:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Description:

  • Seeking a Software Engineer with foundational experience or exposure to Machine Learning (ML).
  • Core Product Focus: Supporting the "WAIST" (Why Am I Seeing This?) feature across Facebook and Instagram. Will manage and maintain ML classification models, monitor data quality, analyze dataset integrity, and investigate performance regressions.
  • Will also identify system gaps to prevent invalid configurations from begin onboarded and ensure operational excellence by maintaining quality guardrails across ML pipelines.


Responsibilities:

  • Client is seeking a Temporary Software Engineer to support time-bound engineering initiatives. The individual in this role will contribute to defined project deliverables, collaborating with cross-functional partners to build, improve, and maintain software systems.
  • Deliver well-scoped software enhancements and features aligned to project goals and timelines. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established engineering standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve quality and reliability. - Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across the development lifecycle. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, design, data, security) to support execution of defined deliverables. Create and maintain technical documentation for implemented solutions.
  • Contribute to operational excellence, including monitoring, incident response support, and performance improvements as needed.
