Position Title: CNC Mill Operator
Wage: $20.00-$30.00 per year Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm (Mon-Fri) QPS Employment Group is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Operator / Programmer to set up, program, and operate CNC milling equipment to produce quality components according to engineering drawings and production requirements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on CNC milling experience, with Mazak/Mazatrol experience strongly preferred. This is a 1st shift position located in Olivette, MO. CNC Mill Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, dimensions, specifications, and tolerances. - Write, edit, and optimize CNC milling programs, including tool paths, tooling data, speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters. - Program and operate Mazak CNC equipment using Mazatrol or related programming software. - Complete machine setups, including tooling, fixtures, workholding, offsets, program loading, and first-piece verification. - Operate CNC mills while monitoring tooling, cutting conditions, coolant, chip evacuation, machine performance, and part quality. - Inspect finished and in-process parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment. - Troubleshoot tooling, programming, workholding, machine alarms, and chip evacuation issues. - Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor adjustments. - Work with Engineering, supervisors, leads, and production personnel to address manufacturability concerns and improve efficiency, setup times, and cycle times. CNC Mill Operator Requirements: - Previous CNC milling setup and operating experience in a manufacturing environment. - CNC programming experience strongly preferred. - Mazak/Mazatrol experience highly desirable. - Ability to take a job from drawing review and programming through setup, machining, inspection, and completion. - Strong knowledge of cutting tools, machining principles, speeds/feeds, offsets, and precision measurement. - Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. - Commitment to safety and quality. - Ability to stand and work on a manufacturing floor for extended periods. - Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. - Ability to safely handle tooling, fixtures, raw materials, and finished components. - Forklift experience/certification preferred.
