Supervisor Production - 1st Shift

SALARY RANGE: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00
Based on education and relevant work experience

POSITION SUMMARY: Ensure the day to day safe and efficient management of the production facility. Supervise and manage operations and personnel employed in production related functions. Ensure production targets are achieved. Ensure that personnel adhere to work instructions, procedures and standards relevant to productivity, quality, health, safety and environment. Maintain disciplinary procedures where necessary and ensure plant and equipment is used in the manner intended and is properly maintained. Complete daily, weekly, monthly reporting as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Shift Supervisor must arrive 20 minutes prior to their shift start time to change over the shift. This changeover must include walk around the shop.
• Achieve manufacturing results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising jobs. Established production Reporting tools to be monitored for improved production metrics and KPI's.
• Initiate, coordinate and enforce systems, policies and procedures.
• Communicate changes and issues that may affect production commitments.
• Provide reports for production control meetings, S2QDC and advise status of production orders.
• Ensure all production targets are achieved and corrective actions are taken if required.
• Receive production schedule outlining the production requirements and delivery dates of sales order.
• Review the production situation and assign work to the machines.
• See that operators have the necessary material, tool and instructions to set up and run the job.
• Work with Plant Manager, staff departments and personnel concerning matters and problems affecting the shop, such as personnel, schedule, machines, maintenance, breakdowns, rejections, shortages, etc.
• Interview applicants to fill production vacancies.
• Efficiently manage the man hours to meet production during periods of absence and holidays. Address poor performance or unauthorized absence through the disciplinary procedure.
• Assist with the implementation of new tooling and technology.
• Ensure inventory is controlled and excess stock is avoided.
• Conduct and/or participate in the training of the Company's personnel.
• Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocate for and promote a safe work environment by reporting near misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read and interpret documents and manuals. Practice active listening. Ability to solve practical problems and emotional intelligence to work with varying personalities. High school diploma or GED and three years of related experience and/or training required.

EXPORT CONTROL: This position requires access to export-controlled technical data or technology. Employment is contingent upon thyssenkrupp's ability to obtain any required export authorization from the appropriate government agency or agencies.
