Job Summary
The Factory 3D Layout Designer is responsible for converting existing 2D factory layouts into accurate 3D models and developing a digital representation of manufacturing facilities. This role requires strong AutoCAD experience and proficiency with factory 3D modeling software such as Siemens Tecnomatix, Autodesk Factory Design, Dassault Systemes DELMIA Virtual Factory, or an equivalent platform. The position supports the development of digital factory layouts, including mapping existing buildings and Body-in-White assembly line configurations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, collaborative, and able to complete assigned modeling projects independently.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop accurate 3D factory models using existing 2D drawings and layouts.
• Convert existing 2D factory layouts into detailed 3D models.
• Map existing buildings and manufacturing spaces in 3D.
• Develop digital twins of factory environments using appropriate modeling software.
• Create and modify factory layouts representing Body-in-White assembly lines and related manufacturing systems.
• Use AutoCAD or equivalent design software to interpret and develop factory layouts.
• Utilize factory 3D modeling platforms such as Siemens Tecnomatix, Autodesk Factory Design, Dassault Systemes DELMIA Virtual Factory, or equivalent software.
• Review existing drawings and layouts for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with project team members to understand modeling requirements and deliverables.
• Complete assigned 3D factory modeling projects within established timelines.
• Maintain organized and accurate design files and project documentation.
• Communicate project status, technical issues, and required information to team members.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in factory layout design, 3D modeling, CAD, or a related technical field.
• Strong AutoCAD experience, including the ability to develop 3D factory models from 2D drawings.
• Experience with Body-in-White (BIW) assembly line layouts or similar manufacturing facility layouts.
• Experience using factory 3D modeling or digital twin software, such as Siemens Tecnomatix, Autodesk Factory Design, Dassault Systemes DELMIA Virtual Factory, or an equivalent platform.
• Demonstrated ability to convert 2D factory layouts into 3D models.
• Experience mapping existing buildings and manufacturing spaces in 3D.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, layouts, and specifications.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a project team.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to complete project assignments within established requirements and timelines.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant CAD, factory layout, 3D modeling, or manufacturing facility design experience required.
• Experience with Body-in-White assembly line layouts strongly preferred.
