GENERAL SUMMARY
The Technical Content & Training Specialist translates complex product, application, and industry information into clear, accurate, and compelling content that supports customer education, sales effectiveness, and market growth. This position develops technical marketing materials across multiple formats, contributes to product and application training programs, and ensures the technical accuracy of content produced by the Marketing team. Working collaboratively with Marketing, Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Training, customers, and independent sales representatives, this role communicates how DeZURIK solutions address customer challenges and improve operational performance. The position requires strong writing and communication skills, a high degree of mechanical aptitude, and the ability to understand and effectively explain engineered products and valve applications.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  • Research, plan, write, edit, and maintain technical content supporting DeZURIK marketing programs, product initiatives, sales strategies, and customer education.
  • Develop technical content across multiple formats, including videos and scripts, technical articles and white papers, application and customer success stories, social media content, presentations, webinars, product demonstrations, sales tools, suggested specifications, and application-focused materials.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, Engineering, Product Management, Sales, customers, and independent sales representatives to gather information, validate technical content, and ensure accuracy.
  • Translate complex product features, applications, and technical information into clear, customer-focused content that communicates product benefits, applications, and value, including reliability, downtime reduction, operating costs, productivity, and total cost of ownership.
  • Develop application-focused materials that explain product use, service conditions, and recommended construction, materials, and configuration options.
  • Support the development and modernization of DeZURIK's Blue Belt and Red Belt training programs, including training content, exercises, demonstrations, presentations, and reference materials, while collaborating with subject matter experts and facilitators to ensure content is accurate, relevant, and appropriate for the intended audience.
  • Coordinate and support the sales sample program, including selection, preparation, organization, maintenance, and availability of product samples for the sales organization and independent sales representatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, technical communication, marketing, English, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in technical marketing, technical writing, product training, application engineering, sales support, or a related function within a manufacturing or engineered-products environment.
  • Experience developing technical content for multiple formats and audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with engineers, product specialists, sales professionals, customers, and other technical subject matter experts.
  • Experience developing or supporting technical training materials preferred.
  • Experience with product samples, demonstration equipment, or hands-on technical sales tools preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Strong understanding of technical products, applications, and manufacturing or engineered-product environments.
  • Ability to understand complex technical information and translate it into clear, accurate, and customer-focused content.
  • Strong technical writing, editing, and communication skills with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and formats.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand and explain engineered products and applications.
  • Knowledge of valves, flow-control products, water and wastewater systems, industrial processes, or related engineered products preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical audiences and collaborate across Marketing, Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Training, and other functions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Ability to research technical information, ask effective questions, identify gaps, and validate information with subject matter experts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Physical demands are typical of an office position, including extended periods of sitting, and extensive use of a personal computer and telephone.
  • Travel for the company, including both domestic and international travel, may be required for project/systems support.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds independently.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron, and boots). Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
DeZURIK offers a competitive base salary in the $86,158 to $107,698 range, based on experience and qualifications, along with annual bonus opportunities tied to performance.
