Position Summary
The Acute Culture Tech (Water Technician) supports the safe operation of dialysis water systems in hospital and acute care settings. This role assists Biomedical Service Specialists with water system culturing, disinfection activities, specimen handling, inventory management, and equipment support while ensuring compliance with DaVita and CMS requirements.

This position will support all of Geisinger Facilities ( Danville, Wyoming, Community, South).

Daily travel including days driving to multiple sites (37-40 hrs/Week. Monday - Friday- 7am - 4pm)

Key Responsibilities

*Assist Biomedical Service Specialists with culturing and disinfection of acute dialysis water systems.

*Collect, transport, and manage water and dialysate specimens and related documentation.

*Transport equipment, supplies, and paperwork between hospitals and other licensed acute care facilities.

*Monitor and maintain inventory levels of water-testing and dialysis support supplies.

*Ensure dialysis treatment areas are properly stocked and ready for service.

*Follow all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to water quality and patient safety.

Qualifications

*High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

*Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.

*Ability to work independently across multiple hospital locations.

*Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between facilities.

*Ability to lift and transport equipment and supplies.

*Interest or experience in healthcare, dialysis, biomedical services, or water treatment preferred.

* Passing a color-blindness test would be required for the position.

*Consistent compliance with water quality protocols and regulatory requirements.

*Timely completion of cultures, specimen transport, and disinfection activities.

*Well-stocked dialysis treatment areas and accurate inventory management.

*Strong partnership with Biomedical Service Specialists, HSA and hospital staff.

*Flexibility with schedule based off hospital needs, strong communication skills.

*Works well independently, able to troubleshoot and make data informed decisions.
