The primary purpose of the UNCG Center for Translational Biomedical Research is to conduct basic and translational research in human diseases, with focuses on biomarkers for early diagnosis of disease, understanding of disease pathogenesis and development of novel interventions for disease prevention and treatment.

Using cellular and animal models, this Post Doctoral Fellow position is expected to focus on proteomics and lipidomics studies for early detection and mechanistic investigations of atherosclerotic plaque formation in type 1 diabetic coronary artery diseases. The position will perform both bench and bioinformatics related research work, including literature survey, experimental design, sample preparation, data acquisition, data analysis and interpretation, and assist in manuscript and report preparation.

The minimum qualifications for this Post Doctoral Fellow position include a PhD degree in the field of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry or Chemistry; fully trained and very experienced in cell culturing, biological sample preparation from cells and tissues; skilled in biological interpretation of research data in the context of disease mechanism.

The candidate for this position should be self-motivated, possess sufficient communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and with others in a collaborative research environment.
