DESCRIPTION

The Business Intelligence and Planning Analyst will be an analytical professional within the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Campus Life (VAC-SACL) division.

The role serves the entire division and reports to the Director of Resource Planning in the AVC of Finance & Operations. The specialist is responsible for turning campus-wide data into actionable insights that optimize resources, drive revenue opportunities, workforce planning, program enhancements, and strategic decision-making across all AVC units.

Applies acquired skills and professional concepts to business analytics projects of small to medium size and intermediate scope and complexity.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field and / or equivalent experience / training.

  • Working knowledge of business intelligence functions and analytics.

  • Working knowledge of relevant internal databases, BI applications and tools. Ability to produce reports and documentation.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-resolution skills. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to apply statistical methods, data-visualization best practices, and business-modeling techniques to complex dataset

  • Detail oriented, with demonstrated organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner. Strong communication skills for translating complex data into actionable insights for non-technical leaders.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with professional and technical staff. Ability to work cross-functionally with all professional levels, building strong stakeholder relationships.

  • Ability to train staff at a variety of technical skill levels.

  • Proven ability to develop financial and operational models that influence budgeting and revenue strategies.

  • Experience managing ad-hoc data requests and delivering special-project reports on tight timelines.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $81,600 - $147,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $39.08 - $70.79

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
