JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and continuously improving the quality organization and Quality Management System (QMS) at Senior Metal Bellows. This role ensures that products and processes consistently meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements while supporting the company's operational and strategic objectives.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Quality Manager provides leadership across quality assurance, quality control (including calibration), customer quality, supplier quality, and quality-system compliance. The Quality Manager has the authority and accountability to establish and enforce quality requirements, escalate significant quality risks, and require appropriate corrective action when product or process conformity is at risk. Working collaboratively with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and other functions, this position drives a culture of quality, accountability, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Own the effectiveness of the company's Quality Management System and ensure compliance with AS9100, customer requirements, applicable regulatory requirements and internal standards.
2. Establish and monitor quality performance metrics and lead Quality Management Review activities, ensuring quality performance, risks, trends, audit results, customer feedback, and improvement opportunities are effectively communicated to leadership.
3. Drive a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement through effective cross-functional partnership.
4. Develop and execute a quality improvement roadmap based on quality performance data, trends, and business priorities to eliminate recurring failures and improve quality performance.
5. Lead, develop, and coach quality personnel to build a capable, accountable, and high performing team
6. Partner with Engineering, Sales, and other functions to ensure customer, government, and regulatory requirements are clearly defined, communicated, incorporated into internal processes, and effectively verified.
7. Establish and monitor supplier quality expectations, corrective action processes, and performance metrics. Partner with Supply Chain and Engineering to ensure purchased materials and services meet internal and customer requirements.
8. Provide leadership and support to the Calibration and Document Control functions, with an emphasis on continuous improvement, responsiveness, and cross-functional engagement.
9. Maintain an effective process for managing and responding to customer complaints, returns, and nonconforming material, including appropriate cross-functional root cause analysis and corrective action. Including Formal MRB decision authority.
10. Lead preparation for and execution of internal, customer, regulatory, and third-party audits, ensuring timely response to findings and effective corrective actions.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or manufacturing quality, including experience leading quality teams.
• Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems and AS9100 requirements
• Demonstrated experience with customer quality, audits, corrective action, root cause analysis, and quality improvement programs.
• Demonstrated ability to assess quality and operational risks, develop effective mitigation strategies, and communicate risks to cross-functional teams and leadership.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive improvements without relying solely on direct authority.
• Ability to balance customer and regulatory requirements, business objectives, and operational realities when making quality decisions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience leading organizational change and building quality team capabilities.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
• Experience with precision welding, metal forming, machining, or complex engineered assemblies.
• Familiarity with Nadcap requirements and special process oversight.
• Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), process capability, FMEA, and risk-based quality management.
• Experience with AS13100, customer-specific quality requirements, or other aerospace quality standards
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager, or equivalent professional certification

Hiring Range: 130,000 - 145,000
