Under supervision of the Specialty Services Manager and the acting Integrative Medicine Service Chief, provide paraveterinary technical, nursing and administrative support to the Integrative Medicine service. Working with members of the Integrative Medicine team, develop an organized workflow that maximizes efficiency and ensures the services' ability to provide excellent patient care, client care, referring veterinarian service, professional student instruction, and veterinary resident and technician training. Facilitate daily receiving of outpatient and drop-off appointments. Carry out prescribed IM and rehab treatment plans, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises and therapy modalities, for patients, including inpatient and day boarding patients. Communicate with clients on scheduling, instruction for at home care of their pets, and follow-up calls. Provide communication and care of patients shared with other VMTH services. Coordinate consults with various other services in the VMTH. Provide technical support to clinical trials, student instruction and performance of various veterinary technical tasks for small, large and exotic animals.
This position ends 4 months from date of hire with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Must possess a Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) or obtain within 3 months of date of hire.
- No minimum education required.
- Experience working in a small animal veterinary hospital as a veterinary technician.
- Experience obtaining a variety of biological samples.
- Experience restraining and safely handling all types of small and large domestic animals including animals known to be fractious with people and other animals.
- Experience working with minimum direction, flexible enough to use sound judgment in frequently changing situations, and skills to communicate professionally.
- Skill to palpate patients, take vital signs, observe patient condition, and accurately document findings in the medical record.
- Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to interact with a diverse group of students, staff, clinicians and clients with varying backgrounds and perspectives and the skill to recognize and manage difficult situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license.
- Current CCRA, CCRVN, CCRP or VMRT Certification.
- Ability to organize and present information to individuals and small groups.

Work Environment
