Actuarial & Pension Strategies Manager

The Actuarial & Pension Strategies Manager serves as the Investment Strategies team's subject matter expert on benefit plan liabilities, bringing deep knowledge of the regulatory, funding, accounting, and actuarial landscape. Working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, this person will:

Support ongoing portfolio management of custom liability-focused programs within NISA's Strategic Portfolio Management group
• Partner with NISA's Liability Review team and with clients and their actuaries to analyze liability cash flows, interest rate sensitivity, and other market exposures, including the effects of unique benefit features
• Lead projects involving actuarial analysis, asset-liability risk assessment, investment strategy design, programming, and Monte Carlo simulation for some of the world's largest institutional investors
• Communicate complex analysis clearly to clients and internal teams through reports and presentations

• Bachelor's degree in a field requiring strong analytical and quantitative skills (e.g. Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance, or Financial Engineering) is preferred
• ASA or FSA strongly CFA and/or EA a plus
• 6+ years of actuarial/LDI experience, particularly with defined benefit pension plans, required
• Familiarity with PPA, ASC 715, GASB 67/68, and defined benefit plan funding is required
• Experience with defined benefit valuations, LDI asset management, and/or investment consulting preferred
• Strong proficiency in Excel and at least one programming or analytical language (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
• Strong interest in financial markets / economics
