REQUIREMENTS: ALL Applicants must be:

  • Must have own transportation to and from jobsite every work day (driver's license not required)
  • Must provide own hand tools (excluding power tools)
  • May be expected to travel where the project requires (multi-state opportunities)

Primary function of a Millwright: Supervise and give instruction to 3-8 craft people per Crowder's standards in safety, quality, and overall project requirements. Give instructions and assist in the execution of the work per drawings, specifications, and details as required by the project documents. Assist Foremen in the management of tracking and reporting the utilization of equipment, materials, and man hours on a daily basis and execute the plan within the budget of the work being performed.

Typical Duties include but are not limited to:

• Execute, promote, and educate crew on the implementation and usage of the Pre Task Plan (PTP).
• Must stress the importance and the expectations of Crowder Construction Company on how "Safety First" is not just a slogan but a requirement for continued employment.
• Execute all work exhibiting high moral values, unquestionable ethics, and good work habits to ensure that the Crowder Mission Statement is being adhered to.
• Assist foreman in the development of a constructability plan for work assigned from the 3 week look ahead schedule.
• Listen to and follow instructions from the foreman in charge of the overall work plan.
• Communicate instructions from the foreman to his/her team.
• Perform general material/equipment takeoffs.
• Read, understand, and execute work from all drawings and specifications.
• Layout all materials in order to execute the day's work activities per drawings and specifications.
• Assist foremen in monitoring all work being installed to assure it meets Crowder and project quality standards as specified.
• Assist foremen in the execution of the work per the 3-week look ahead schedule and coordinate work activities within allocated man hours.
• Document and communicate accurate labor hours and cost codes to foremen on a daily basis.
• Communicate progress, safety and quality issues, delays, material and equipment needs on a daily basis to direct report foreman.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

• Documented proof of 3-5 years of Journeyman experience.
• Excellent attendance record with prior employers and/or Crowder.
• Have an understanding of Crowder's Safety First Philosophy and demonstrate it through actions and the acceptance of all Crowder Safety Policies and Procedures.
• OSHA 10 Hour Training (minimum).
• Maintain an understanding of and demonstrate Crowder's Quality Installation Standards and the QA/QC Processes and Procedures through his/her actions.
• Proficient in reading and understanding all drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Possess superior skill set and proven record of above average performance in his/her field of expertise/craft.
• Demonstrate the ability to look ahead to facilitate the planning and execution of work to meet the project schedule and cost requirements.
• Demonstrate strong listening and verbal communication skills.
• Possess all personal hand tools/devices required to perform work.
