Bruker Nano Surface Metrology is seeking a Manufacturing and Assembly Technician to support Atomic Force Microscope production at our Camarillo, CA location. The Manufacturing Technician will work closely with the manufacturing team and will be primarily responsible for inspection of finished goods to verify quality conformance and assembling these goods into packaging material. All safety protocols must be followed at all times while performing tasks in a cleanroom environment. This hands-on position will require good hand-eye coordination, strong attention to detail, and the ability to understand complex manufacturing instructions.

* Ability to work hours at a time gowned up inside a cleanroom environment.
* Read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Manufacturing Work Instructions (WI's).
* Handling very fragile 4" Diameter silicon wafers.
* Handling small/tiny parts using sharp-tipped tweezers.
* Cleaning and fabricating parts using dilute chemicals and solvents.
* Using optical microscopes for extended period of time to perform incoming and in-process inspection of components and assemblies to verify quality conformance.
* Using optical microscopes to aid in building miniaturized assemblies.
* Using test equipment to verify quality conformance.
* Must be able to pay close attention to details as all the parts look the same at first glance and many of the Part Numbers look very similar.
* Data entry of test/assembly results into Microsoft Excel or an equivalent database.
* Maintain clean and organized work area in order to efficiently perform duties.
* Complete required training in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of the trainer.
* Comply with company safety procedures and notify superiors when safety hazards arise.
* Contribute to the refinement of procedures and protocols and escalate any issues as necessary.
* Recognize problems or issues with the equipment and any affiliated documentation and relay that information to superiors.
* Deliver progress updates to supervisor on a regular basis.

* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical, optical or electrical manufacturing setting.
* Ability to work with others in a team environment.
* Ability to work unsupervised and set priorities accordingly.
* Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Work may involve repetitive arm/wrist motions.
* Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
* Ability to safely work with and around chemicals and solvents.
* Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with peers, supervisors, manufacturing engineers
* Able to understand instructions both written and spoken in English.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Comfortable with performing multiple tasks at the same time.
* Experienced in handling sensitive manufactured parts that are easily damaged by mishandling and electrostatic discharge.
* Ability to calmly perform duties during periods of high stress.
* Microsoft Office/Windows Proficiency
* Experience with SAP not required, but definitely a bonus.

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $51,300 and $91,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position.
