Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel
The Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel has over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views. JOB PURPOSE: The In-Room Dining Order Taker will be the primary point-of-contact for our guests who wish to experience an upscale in-room meal and/or beverage experience. The In-Room Dining Order Taker will take guest orders, offer menu suggestions, summarize orders and correctly enter all pertinent information into our point-of-sale system. He/she will close checks to the correct account and ensure servers have all the information they need to deliver orders efficiently and correctly. The In-Room Dining Order Taker also facilitates amenity deliveries; calls back guests to ensure every aspect of their order was delivered to their satisfaction and does whatever it takes to ensure timely and accurate service. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Complete knowledge of service time, menu and specials * Responsible for answering the phone in a timely manner. * Take orders for guests. * Must follow prepared scenario to encourage upselling. * Give the approximate time of delivery for the order. * Prepare payment of checks. * Knowledge of food menu and wine list. * Know and adhere to all liability laws. * Printing of reports at the end of the shift and banking out. * Complete other duties assigned. * Attend all designated staff meetings and training sessions. QUALIFICATIONS: * Previous food and beverage experience in hotel preferred * Room Service experience is preferred * Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overnightshifts * Must be able to lift at least 30lbs * Candidate should possess excellent communication skills ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS: * Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 30 pounds without assistance. * Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift. * Requires repetitive motion. * May work both indoors and outdoors.
