This is a hybrid position located in Charleston, SC with occasional travel to customer or project locations.

The role of Quality Control Specialist IV is to provide technical problem solving, maintenance, and refurbishment services to NIWC Atlantic in support of the Other Command Funded C4I Installation Support and Maintenance Efforts. The NDT Level III is responsible for providing technical oversight and direction for nondestructive testing activities in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, customer requirements, and company procedures. The position serves as the technical authority for NDT methods, develops and approves NDT procedures, provides technical guidance to Level I and Level II personnel, and ensures NDT operations are performed safely, accurately, and in compliance with applicable requirements.

Hourly range: $80.00/Hr - $85.00/Hr

Essential Job Duties:

• Serve as the company's technical authority for assigned NDT methods.
• Develop, review, approve, and maintain NDT procedures, techniques, and work instructions.
• Ensure NDT examinations comply with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to NDT Level I and Level II personnel.
• Establish and maintain NDT personnel qualification and certification programs.
• Conduct or oversee examinations, when required, and provide technical assistance for complex or unusual inspection requirements.
• Review NDT reports, examination results, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Evaluate and approve NDT techniques, equipment, calibration requirements, and examination parameters.
• Support quality audits, customer audits, internal assessments, and regulatory inspections.
• Investigate NDT-related nonconformances and assist with corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain required NDT records, procedures, certifications, and qualification documentation.
• Stay current with changes to applicable NDT standards, codes, specifications, and industry practices.
• Ensure NDT personnel have the appropriate qualifications, equipment, procedures, and documentation before performing work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accountable for the technical integrity, quality, and compliance of all NDT activities; the qualification and oversight of NDT personnel; the development and approval of NDT procedures; the accuracy and traceability of inspection results; and ensuring NDT operations meet applicable codes, standards, customer requirements, and contractual obligations.

Mandatory:

• Must be a US citizen
• Must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance within 12 months of hire date
• Must have a High School diploma
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Must have a strong proficiency in quality control tools and methodologies while demonstrating excellent analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience developing NDT procedures and written practice documents.
• Current NDT III VT
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background and pre-hire drug screening.

Working Conditions:

• This position primarily works in a professional office environment with standard office conditions. Work is generally performed at a desk or workstation using a computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
• The position requires extended periods of sitting, computer use, and reviewing technical documents and inspection records.
• Occasional travel to customer or project locations may be required to provide technical support, conduct audits, or address NDT-related requirements.
