Background Screening Investigator

The Opportunity:

Serve as a background screening program case manager within an internal team responsible for facilitating pre-hire screening processes and ensuring proper case management within the background screening program for candidates. Conduct screening investigations, including collecting data from multiple sources, analyzing for discrepancies, completing video interviews with external candidates under investigation, and then synthesizing information and summarizing screening findings clearly and concisely in writing. Prepare and present case materials in written and verbal format to a formal review committee. Perform in a fast-paced environment with little supervision, maintain high organizational oversight to ensure task completion, and maintain compliance standards with local and national laws in each area of operation as they pertain to background screenings, investigations, and their impact on employment. Collaborate with external groups with case escalations, including employee relations, the law department, and security services. Support specialized screening practices, as needed.

You Have:

• 3+ years of experience with background screenings, general corporate investigations, or investigations in a law enforcement or military environment
• Experience with the protection of confidential or sensitive materials and data
• Knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act as it pertains to background screenings
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel
• Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of staff and external clients
• Ability to verbally present screening findings and respond to questions clearly and concisely
• Ability to pay strict attention to detail and adapt to changing case volumes and types
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• HS diploma or GED

• Experience with legal or compliance processes
• Ability to work independently and utilize resources to problem-solve a variety of complex issues
• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor's degree
• Reid Technique of Investigative Interviewing and Advanced Interrogation or similar Certification

Clearance:
