Job Summary
The Lab Technician supports laboratory operations by performing equipment cleaning, basic decontamination, equipment handling, and general technical assistance. This role will primarily support the preparation of surplus laboratory instruments for auction and assist with escorting external personnel during onsite activities. The successful candidate will follow established procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate effectively with supervisors and visitors.

Job Responsibilities

• Clean and perform basic decontamination of laboratory instruments and equipment according to established procedures.
• Handle laboratory equipment and instruments safely during preparation and related activities.
• Assist and escort external personnel and visitors during onsite equipment-related activities.
• Support the preparation of surplus laboratory instruments for auction.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow standard operating procedures and established safety requirements.
• Promptly communicate equipment issues, safety concerns, or other problems to the supervisor.
• Complete basic documentation related to equipment cleaning, handling, and preparation activities.
• Manage assigned tasks independently and complete work within established timelines.

Job Requirements

• 0-2 years of relevant laboratory or technical experience.
• Basic familiarity with laboratory environments, equipment, or instrument handling.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Ability to safely handle and clean laboratory equipment.
• Ability to interact professionally with external personnel and visitors.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical or medical device environment preferred.
• High school diploma or GED.

Education

• High school diploma or GED required.

Work Experience

• 0-2 years of relevant laboratory or technical experience.
• Pharmaceutical or medical device experience preferred.
