Patient Population Registered Nurses on this unit provide care for patients with: Medical-Surgical conditions Gastrointestinal (GI) disorders Oncology diagnoses Post-operative recovery needs COPD and respiratory illnesses Pneumonia Urinary tract infections (UTI) Dehydration Complex wound care Nursing Support RN-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:6 Dedicated Patient Care Associates on every shift Collaborative interdisciplinary healthcare team Supportive nurse leadership and clinical education resources Registered Nurse Responsibilities Deliver safe, evidence-based patient care Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and healthcare professionals Administer medications and treatments Monitor patient progress and provide education to patients and families Maintain accurate electronic medical record documentation Promote patient safety and quality outcomes Required Qualifications Education Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program Licensure Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Compact State Nursing License or Missouri RN License, as applicable Compliance with state board of nursing requirements Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required Additional unit-specific certifications as required Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and twist while providing patient care Why Mercy?
