Education Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Additional education or training in logistics, transportation, supply chain management, or business is a plus. DOT safety, transportation compliance, or fleet management training preferred. Experience Requirements 1-3 years of experience in dispatching, transportation, logistics coordination, or fleet operations. Experience scheduling drivers, coordinating deliveries, and managing transportation routes. Knowledge of DOT regulations, transportation safety standards, and compliance requirements preferred. Proficiency with dispatch, routing, fleet management, or logistics software. Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment. DOT driver safety experience is highly preferred and may qualify for higher compensation. Physical Capabilities Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods. Ability to monitor multiple transportation activities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Strong visual attention to detail when reviewing schedules, routes, reports, and logistics data. Ability to respond quickly and effectively to transportation issues and emergency situations. Job Duties Schedule and dispatch drivers and vehicles to ensure on-time deliveries and efficient transportation operations. Monitor driver performance, routing, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance schedules. Optimize transportation routes using logistics analysis to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Coordinate real-time communication with drivers to resolve delivery, traffic, and scheduling issues. Track shipments, verify logistics data, and maintain accurate transportation records. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and transportation safety standards. Lead incident response efforts and assist with transportation-related problem resolution. Support customer service activities, delivery updates, and operational reporting.
