Archaeological Field Technician

RK&K is seeking a qualified archaeological monitor for a construction project in Great Bridge, Virginia. The project is expected to begin in late September or early October and may last up to 8 months. The qualified archaeological monitor will be asked to commit for the duration of the project. Pay rate ranges from $23.00/hr to $25.00/hr depending on qualifications and experience. The project includes lodging and per diem.

Required Skills and Experience

* BA/BS in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field; Preferred MA/MS in Archaeology, Anthropology

* 3+ years of experience in Archaeological field work

* Archaeological field school

* Archaeological monitoring experience, required

* Ability to pass a background check

* Ability to work in the field under adverse conditions

* Ability to work in inclement weather conditions and strenuous conditions

* Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.

* Ability to walk long distances

* Ability to document shovel test excavations and record detailed test unit notes

* Ability to work well with others
