Senior Financial Analyst at Providence Portland Medical Center. This posting represents Full-Time, Day Schedule.

The essential functions of the Senior Finance Analysts:

*Oversees CORE's master department budget and project budgets, including budget development, expense management, and analysis, reporting and projection of monies and resource allocations:

*Develops budgets for grants and contracts, manages expenses for grants and contracts, and provides budget analysis for the department.

*May manage, supervise or mentor others in these or related activities.

*Leads the development of CORE's financial and accounting systems to support strategic priorities, and to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and contract requirements.

*Initiates and leads process improvement activities related to financial systems, including payroll, invoicing, cash management, procurement, expense reimbursement, and PCards.

*Maintains up-to-date knowledge of compliance requirements and interprets new regulations to inform CORE policies.

*Develops and provides training and education in finance systems and policies to all staff.

*Writes budgets for research grants and ensures that research spending complies with federal regulations.

*Develops reports to funders and quarterly financial reports.

*Maintains effective relationships with external and PHS strategic partners to facilitate finance work.

*Manages the monthly, quarterly and long-term FTE allocations process to ensure that all CORE staff are fully funded and properly assigned to project and general ledger accounts.

*Collaborates with project teams in pre-award processes to route proposals for internal approvals and ensure compliance with sponsor requirements.

*Manages post-award administration including project setups, modifications, invoicing to sponsors, budget monitoring and forecasting.

*Develops reports to funders and quarterly financial reports for all projects and accounts

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in an industry-related field.
  • 2 years' experience in business intelligence, financial reporting, or operational reporting.
  • 7 years' experience with grants management and/or accounting.
  • 2 years pre-award and/or post-award grants management experience.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Coursework/Training: Finance or accounting coursework.
  • Coursework/Training: Process/workflow improvement training (such as Agile, Lean or SCRUM training).
