Job Description:

Providing data analysis and epidemiologic support to our Brain Health team, with potential to increase to full time down the road. The position will support projects focused on brain health, healthy aging, and related health and behavioral outcomes, with a particular emphasis on analysis of large national population-based datasets.

  • Conduct analyses of national health and aging datasets, including sources such as the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), Health and Retirement Study (HRS), and other relevant national surveys.
  • Develop analytic approaches and statistical analysis plans in collaboration with Brain Health staff.
  • Clean, manage, recode, and analyze complex survey datasets, including appropriate application of survey weights and design variables.
  • Conduct descriptive and multivariable analyses examining prevalence, trends, disparities, risk factors, and other population health questions.
  • Develop tables, figures, and other data visualizations for reports, presentations, manuscripts, briefs, and consumer-facing materials.
  • Review and interpret analytic findings and assist with translating results into clear, accurate conclusions for technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Conduct targeted literature reviews and background research to help contextualize findings and inform analytic approaches.
  • Support documentation of analytic methods, data sources, variable definitions, and results to ensure reproducibility and transparency.
  • Provide additional epidemiologic, research, and data analysis support for Brain Health projects as needed.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, health services research, social sciences, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience analyzing large population-based health or social science datasets.
  • Experience using statistical software such as SAS, Stata, R, or comparable analytic platforms.
  • Knowledge of epidemiologic and biostatistical methods, including analysis of complex survey data.
  • Strong ability to interpret and communicate quantitative findings.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and written communication skills.
Preferred
  • Experience working with NHIS, BRFSS, HRS, NHANES, or similar national datasets.
  • Experience conducting analyses related to aging, cognitive health, chronic disease, health behaviors, or social determinants of health.
  • Experience developing analyses for peer-reviewed publications, research reports, policy briefs, or public-facing communications.
