HealthPartners is looking to hire a Behavioral Health Coordinator to join our Regions Behavioral Health team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

Position Summary:

The purpose of this position is to provide clinic reception, patient appointment scheduling, referral administration/information, registration, medical record and other clerical support services to designated area; and to perform related duties as assigned. Works with patients of all ages, primarily adults.

Job Duties:

Performs scheduling and clerical support functions based on the needs of the patient populations served including but not limited to:

  1. Acknowledges and warmly greets and checks in patients upon arrival to the clinic.
  1. Verifies patient registration; obtains insurance information for new patients or verifies insurance information on file for established patients and collects co-payments.
  2. Verifies patient insurance for service type.
  1. Provides customers with appointment specific paperwork and instructions for completion.
  2. Schedules a variety of patient appointments; intakes, testing, ongoing visits with individual providers or care teams in appropriate sequence, duration and cadence.
  3. Schedules Interpreters, arranges for transportation, refers patients with financial issues as needed.
  1. Answers the phone promptly, documents the call, independently handles or routes information/questions to appropriate individual (s).
  2. Enters patient refill requests in EPIC and sends to the nursing team. Calls patients to schedule follow up appointments, as directed by the nursing team.
  3. Prepares patient documents and sends documents to Health Information Management.
  4. Makes reminder phone calls for new patient appointments.
  5. Checks, responds to and distributes department email (shared mailbox), faxes and mail.
  6. Monitors the waiting area, responds to patient needs and escalates patient safety concerns to nurses or provider team.
  7. Maintains a clean and neat patient waiting area.

Work Schedule:

Hours are anywhere between 0-40 hours per week.

Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Two years' experience in a position interacting with the public using telephones and computers.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional customer service skills (internal and external customers).
  • Expertise in the use of computer, phone system and other office machines, as applicable to position.
  • Knowledge of all policies, procedures and regulations relating to position and clinic assignment.
  • Ability to systematically and skillfully respond to telephone calls and customer requests.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to give precise attention to details in a distracting environment.
