The Department of Radiology at University of Colorado School of Medicine on the Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking applicants for Division Chief of Interventional Radiology. This is a full-time position at the Associate Professor or Professor level. This leadership position involves overseeing the clinical, educational, and research missions of the IR Division. The Division Chief will assume a key leadership role in managing Division operations, driving clinical excellence, promoting academic growth, and fostering collaboration across departments. This position is at least a 0.40 FTE, reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Radiology, and serves as a member of the Department's senior leadership team. Administrative support will be provided for the role. The IR Division is comprised of 14 attending faculty, 11 APPs, and thriving integrated and independent residencies. IR covers an 893-bed tertiary academic hospital, an actively expanding 147-bed community hospital, a dialysis-focused ASC, and an OBL. UCHealth is a large nonprofit academic health system serving Colorado, southern Wyoming, and western Nebraska. Its clinical and academic center of gravity is the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. UCHealth employs approximately 37,000 people in 15 acute-care hospitals, thousands of physicians, and a network of outpatient clinics and practices across its three principal operating regions: Metro Denver, Northern Colorado, and Southern Colorado. The IR Division at UCH is located within the Heart and Vascular Center, which is comprised of 16 procedural suites, a 38 bay pre/post procedural area, and a 40-room ambulatory clinic. Interventional Cardiology, Interventional Pulmonology, Neurointerventional Radiology, Electrophysiology, and IR are centered in the HVC. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and execute a strategic vision for the Division, recruit and retain outstanding faculty, expand high-quality clinical programs, advance quality, safety, and operational performance, strengthen educational programs, and promote research. Key Responsibilities: As Division Chief, you will:
- Lead and manage the IR Division, providing strategic vision, mentorship, and guidance to faculty, fellows, and staff.
- Oversee the clinical operations of the Division, ensuring the highest standards of care in IR clinical and procedural care, and vascular imaging.
- Collaborate with other departments to advance interdisciplinary patient care.
- Partner with the IR education leadership team to oversee the Division's educational mission, including the training and professional development of IR/DR Independent Residents (2/year), IR Integrated Residents (4/year with additional military match), and DR residents (38).
- Participate in administrative decision-making, including budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation to support the Division's growth.
- Take a leadership role in recruitment, retention, and professional development of IR faculty.
- Serve as UCHealth Clinical Director of Interventional Radiology, partnering with hospital and health-system leadership.
Diagnostic and Clinical Responsibilities The Division Chief will participate in clinical duties, including:
- Maintaining an active clinical practice in IR and vascular imaging
- Weekend IR call duties shared equally by all Division faculty, with IR specialty-specific coverage
Faculty members have access to personal workstations for occasional work-from-home duties, with clinical responsibilities based primarily at the main hospital in Aurora. The Division Chief will provide clinical and operational leadership across the Division's hospital-based and ambulatory sites, including the University of Colorado Hospital, Highlands Ranch Hospital, CU Ridgeline OBL, and the Lowry ASC. |

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: Associate Professor/Professor:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in clinical operations, education, research, proven record of academic achievement
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Prior leadership roles at local and national levels
- National reputation in Interventional Radiology
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated clinical expertise across the breadth of contemporary IR, with competence in vascular imaging interpretation appropriate to the Division's clinical practice.

Anticipated Pay Range: |
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: Associate Professor: $550,000 - $700,000 Professor: $550,000 - $700,000 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
