Job Summary:

The Manager, Product Innovation is accountable for Product Excellence within an assigned product area - leading a team of Product Managers and Analysts who own and drive the product roadmap and end-to-end lifecycle. The Manager partners with a peer Technical Leader (jointly accountable for solution design, build decisions, and delivery of business outcomes) to achieve results. The Manager focuses on product quality, reliability, user experience, and the right features to meet the needs of targeted markets.

The Manager is responsible for ideation, definition, prioritization, and delivery across the product area, and directs the team's direct customer discovery and research work in alignment with the Strategy.

As a critical team leader, the Manager coaches, develops, and evaluates Product Managers and Product Analysts to ensure the efficient operation of the function and growth of future talent.

Responsibilities:
  • Function as a central resource for the management, development, and design of one or more products during all aspects of the product lifecycle.
  • Identify areas of product opportunity within the assigned area, develop, and evaluate ideas. Leverage expertise to prioritize requirements that drive product excellence outcomes - quality, reliability, user experience, and the right features.
  • Make product and roadmap decisions to drive Product Excellence in the assigned product area, jointly with the peer Technical Leader.
  • Serve as product subject matter expert within the company and in the industry in terms of product capabilities, competition, user need, and industry standards.
  • Manage those involved in the design, modification, and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or group of products.
  • Manage product lifecycle planning including, product vision, product roadmaps, KPI dashboards, etc.
  • Ensure customer and user satisfaction by leveraging the principles of User-Centric Design and by maintaining direct customer discovery and research access for the team.
  • Track key product quality metrics and lead quality improvement efforts with customers and partners.
  • Collaborate with the Strategy Leader, Standards, Implementation, and Integration teams to facilitate new customer onboarding and maximize product utilization.
  • Collaborate with peers in development and operations teams to ensure the effective delivery of the product roadmap.
  • Operate as "two in a box" with a peer Technical Leader (jointly accountable for build decisions and business outcomes)
  • Champion AI-forward and AI-assisted product management practices across the team, in alignment with the Product & Technology operating model.
  • Lead and develop Product Analysts who own product-health insight - the usage, quality, and performance analytics that inform Roadmap decisions and provide early warning on customer experience.
Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in related, progressive roles
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare or a related field - for example: EHRs, HIEs, Public Health or Health Care Providers
  • 5+ years of experience assessing market and customer needs for information products and services
  • 5+ years of experience in building and managing products through the lifecycle
  • 1+ years of experience managing all aspects of the product lifecycle (Ideate, Define, Build, Launch, Manage)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience managing or leading people
  • User-Experience Design training or background
  • Master's degree in related discipline
  • Pragmatic Marketing Certification
  • Project Management Skills
  • Experience with industry standards such as NCPDP, HL7, FHIR
  • Experience applying AI/ML to product management practices (discovery, definition, workflow acceleration)

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $161,300 - $197,100 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
