The Highlights:

The Assistant Director position is a vital member of the admission and recruiting team, reporting to the Director of Graduate Admission for the Colleges of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences and Science and Health. The Assistant Director has primary responsibility for admission pipeline process and activities (driving inquiries to enrollment) for a portfolio of graduate programs in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and the College of Science and Health.

The position will collaborate with faculty program directors, the faculty chairpersons, and others within the Enrollment Management and Marketing division to develop and coordinate a systematic and actionable integrative recruitment plan through the development and implementation of outreach activities, programs, and materials. The Assistant Director will also actively use recruitment systems (Slate and PeopleSoft) and engage in on-going communications with prospective students, faculty, and other members of the college community.

What You'll Do:

1. Responsible for developing and implementing a recruitment and admissions plan related to a set list of programs. Develop and maintain subject matter expertise of their portfolio, competitor programs and the unique features and benefits of DePaul's programs. Develop and maintain funnel activity reports that provide insights and outcomes to appropriate stakeholders across the institution.

2. Manage inquiries, responding promptly and accurately to all student inquiries, by phone, email, chat and in person; contact students with incomplete applications or missing credentials; ensure that admitted students are fully apprised of next step information; follow up with students who have not submitted intent to enrolls or tuition deposits by the appropriate deadlines; maintain contact with committed students to assure their enrollment the following quarter.

3. Develop and nurture relationships with faculty so as to better understand their programs, challenges and aspirations and promote mutual understanding of the direction and support that the enrollment management division can provide them. Serve as the primary liaison to an assigned academic department within LAS and CSH including membership on appropriate committees. Serve on divisional and university committees and represent the University to external organizations and associations as well.

4. The Assistant Director project manages one or more of the following areas: staffing/management of the student employee workforce; recruitment event planning and communications; international recruitment and admission coordination; recruitment of on-site cohorts and/or nursing/health care recruitment and enrollment efforts.

5. Act as primary point of contact with Recruitment Marketing for standard and ad-hoc communications for the portfolio of programs. Communications include, but are not limited to texts, phone calls, chats, appointments, and emails, across the admissions funnel.

6. Manage a portfolio of programs and facilitate appropriate targeted outreach efforts to corporate, not-for-profit, educational professional communities and schools to support the enrollment goals of the college; develop knowledge of the competitive landscape and demand for the programs. Communicate with the corporate, not-for-profit, educational, professional and school communities in the regions, and seek opportunities for collaboration, enrollment expansion, and program development. Collaborate with the various communities to develop relationships with community leaders and to engage in community service as appropriate.

Depending on the needs of the office, may hire, train and manage oversee the work of student and/or part-time workers.

What You'll Need:

* Bachelor's degree required.

* Three to five years admission or admission-related experience, with preference given to candidates who have experience in graduate admission and recruiting.

* Demonstrate a professional presence and maturity in dealing with a variety of audiences, external and internal to the university.

* Excellent interpersonal, oral presentation, and written communication skills are critical for success.

* Knowledge of enrollment management practices and current adult education recruiting/marketing strategies at the graduate level.

* Ability to think strategically, analytically, critically, and respond tactically to enrollment opportunities and challenges.

* Developing and implement integrative marketing and recruitment plans to enroll significant numbers of graduate students in current and potential new graduate programs.

* Understanding of statistics and budgets, and the ability to identify enrollment trends and general shifts in the demographics of college bound adult students. Ability to assess market needs; identify, develop and implement marketing activities.

* Exceptional interpersonal and communication and product management skills.

* Strong project management/organizational skills with attention to detail, commitment to quality, and ability to balance multiple demands from demanding constituencies.

* Creativity, positive can-do attitude, flexibility, initiative, and ability to function effectively as member of a team.

* Responsive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.

The anticipated hiring range for this position is: $50,174 to $55,000.

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
