Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a cleared Senior System Administrator to provide support to the DOE Office of Environment, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) contract located in Germantown, MD. The Senior System Administrator plans, leads and manages activities associated with the development, implementation, maintenance, and replacement of major information technology systems and applications.

This position is ONSITE, reporting to the DOE office in Germantown, Maryland. This position requires an active Top-Secret or Q clearance.



Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    Install, configure, maintain, and monitor physical and virtual RHEL and Windows based computer systems.
  • Manage user accounts, group memberships, and access permissions across environments.
  • Harden and patch operating systems in accordance with DoD STIGs and agency policies.
  • Manage and deploy patch life cycles using Satellite Server and WSUS.
  • Manage Microsoft Group Policies Objects (GPO).
  • Deploy, configure, and manage CDM tools and services for asset discovery, vulnerability scanning, endpoint detection, and configuration management.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible, Bash, and PowerShell.
  • Support backup and recovery operations including disaster recovery planning.
  • Create and maintain configuration management documentation for all systems.
  • Tier 2 customer support and managing tickets through closure.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems, networks, and security issues.
  • Includes weekend work for critical system patching and maintenance windows.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Active TS or Q clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience performing professional level work in the information technology field; including experience performing information technology analysis and managing IT projects through the entire project life cycle.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help manage internal networks.
  • Experience with CDM tools (Axonius, ForeScout, Carbon Black, CrowdStrike, Tenable Security Center).
  • Successful completion of COMSEC training and certification.
  • Administration and support of Cisco Firepower firewalls.

Salary: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00
