Hours

  • 6:00 am- 2:30 pm (Monday- Friday)
  • Overtime Daily or Saturdays as required by Production

Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $27.25. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.

Join Our Team as a Machinist!

In this job you will form various gauges and types of steel on both mechanical and hydraulic press brakes. You will be working in a production environment where all jobs have a measured standard production rate and you will be held accountable for the quality of your work. Duration of set-ups varies from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours. Once set-up, a job will run from 30 minutes to 5 hours. Most tasks require good hand/eye coordination and a full range of motion of both hands and arms on a regular and repetitive basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forming parts of high quality by reading and interpreting complex blueprints.

  • Use of simple material handling equipment and overhead cranes to handle dies ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 1500 lbs.

  • Use of simple material handling equipment and overhead cranes to handle sheet-metal stock ranging from 30 lbs. to 150 lbs.

  • Inspecting parts using various measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers and scales.

  • Using programming language to manipulate back gauge into proper position.

What you'll Need To Succeed:

  • 1+ years of demonstrated experience with the set-up and operation of manual and computer-controlled punching, cutting, forming machines, or press brakes.

  • Ability to use complex shop math, including calculating bend allowances.

  • Ability to read complex blueprints and specifications.

  • Demonstrated ability using measuring equipment such as micrometers and dial calipers.

  • Understanding of CNC controls and programming language.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical demands:

  • Standing: All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.

  • Lifting: Frequent lifting of parts and materials ranging from 5 lbs. to 40 lbs.

  • Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances within the production area.

  • Carrying: Frequent carrying of parts and production materials.

  • Pushing/Pulling: Occasional pushing and pulling of carts, pallet jacks, plating equipment, and other material handling equipment.

  • Bending: Frequent bending and crouching to safely handle parts of various sizes and shapes.

  • Reaching: Continuous range of motion, including reaching above shoulders and below knees.

  • Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging from small components to larger assemblies.

  • Other: Respirator certification will be required. Employees will be required to wear chemical-resistant PPE, including Tyvek suits, gloves, face shields, and other protective equipment while performing chemical-related tasks.
