Job Title: Type Change Tooling Mechanic

Summary A Type Change Tooling Mechanic supports type change activities by providing operational

documents and standards, setting hand gages according to specifications, and ensuring all required

masters and grinding wheels and stones are provided to the line.

Starting Wage: $25.00

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At ANBM, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.




  • Prepare and distribute operational standards, technical documentation, grinding wheels, and super finish stones according to Type Change schedule


  • Ensure all required setup materials are available prior to scheduled type changes
  • Set hand gauges according to operational specifications and inspection standards
  • Retrieve previous master sets from production lines and return them to the QA department
  • Maintain and organize technical documentation and filing systems
  • Ensure operational standards are current and properly distributed
  • Report documentation discrepancies and coordinate updates with appropriate departments
  • Repair and maintain electronic machine gauges
  • Communicate with Production, Quality Assurance, and Type Change departments to resolve setup issues
  • Assist with troubleshooting type change-related setup concerns
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Type Change department
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required to support operational needs



JOB REQUIREMENTS



  • Be able to use hand tool for fine adjustment of gage
  • Attention to detail and complete work assignments without much supervision


  • Dependable and adhere to Attendance policy


  • Must be willing to take on additional responsibilities and challenges


  • Must be persistent in finding solutions to given obstacles


  • Written and verbal communication skills within the work group


  • Basic knowledge of computer use


  • Familiar with electronic mail software: Outlook or other


  • Be able to utilize Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and Power Point



Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Bump caps, steel toe safety shoes, and safety glasses are required in all production areas. Hearing protection is encouraged and may be required in specific areas.

Physical Demands




  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; hazards common to industrial settings; chemicals, vibration, and loud noises.
  • Safety shoes, safety glasses, chemical resistant gloves and bump caps for this position must be worn on the production floor. Other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
  • Jobs on the production floor require a minimum 40-hour workweek. Overtime may be required.
  • The pace of work is steady and fast.
  • Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • This position requires sufficient vision to see details at close range, so the person can pass an inspection test of finished parts and components.
