In the role of Environmental Planner II, we'll count on you to:

* Conduct environmental analyses and prepare environmental documentation, permit applications, and regulatory submittals to support project delivery and compliance.

* Coordinate environmental reviews, permitting efforts, and agency consultations to satisfy federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

* Collect and evaluate project-related information through research, agency and stakeholder coordination, map reviews, site investigations, and land use analyses.

* Prepare environmental documents in accordance with the Hawaii Environmental Policy Act (HEPA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

* Prepare and review technical studies, permit applications, environmental documents, and related planning reports.

* Coordinate with resource agencies and technical specialists to support consultations under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act, Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 6E, and other applicable regulations.

* Support the planning and facilitation of public meetings, community outreach efforts, and public hearings.

* Assist public and private sector clients with permit strategy, coordination, acquisition, and compliance.

* Conduct data collection, GIS-based analyses, and environmental constraints assessments.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Geography, Public Administration, Engineering, or closely related field

* A minimum of 5 years environmental experience

* Proficiency with MS Office Suite

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and present technical information clearly.

* Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information and prepare clear, concise technical documents.

* Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities

* Working understanding of local planning frameworks, regulatory requirements, and project entitlement process and procedures.

* Familiarity with NEPA, HEPA, and associated resource consultations

* Proven effectiveness at managing and prioritizing competing assignments, maintaining schedules, meeting client expectations, and working collaboratively in a team environment.

* An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
