Reporting to: Director, Construction

FLSA Status: Exempt

Location: Bentonville, AR; Denver, CO

Walton Enterprises is seeking a skilled, highly motivated and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as a Manager, Construction. The ideal teammate will have the demonstrated ability to manage construction projects from planning through closeout while coordinating schedules, budgets, vendors, documentation, site activity, and internal and external stakeholders.

About the Position

The Manager, Construction manages assigned construction projects and supports the delivery of construction, renovation, and property improvement work. This role coordinates project schedules, budgets, vendors, documentation, design reviews, site activity, and closeout tasks. The Manager works with internal stakeholders and external partners to help ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within scope, and to expected quality standards.

What you will do

This role manages assigned construction projects and project workstreams from planning through closeout, coordinating schedules, budgets, contractors, vendors, design and construction documentation, site activity, issue resolution, and project handoff.

Responsibilities

    Manage assigned construction projects or project workstreams from planning through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost reports, status updates, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal partners.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, invoices, change requests, permits, and related documents.
  • Monitor project progress through site visits, meetings, inspections, and issue tracking.
  • Identify and resolve routine project issues, escalating risks, delays, or budget concerns as appropriate.
  • Support vendor selection, contract administration, procurement, and contractor performance follow-up.
  • Ensure project work aligns with safety requirements, quality standards, contracts, and applicable codes.
  • Coordinate project handoff, commissioning, closeout documentation, and transition to property or maintenance teams.

Qualifications required for success

  • Minimum of 5 years of construction management, project management, facilities project, architecture, engineering, or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, real estate, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction management processes, materials, methods, building codes, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, vendors, contractors, documentation, and project updates.
  • Broad understanding of construction and design contracts.
  • Familiarity with construction management software or project tracking tools.
  • Strong communication, organization, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Ability to manage confidential information and exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism.

Benefits Information

Compensation Range: $158,000.00-$197,000.00

About the Property Services Department

The Property Services team assists the family members with all property related activities including acquisition, design, and development. They manage a variety of properties including both personal and commercial real estate, vehicles, equipment, and other property related assets throughout the country. The Property Management team also supports the Walton Family Foundation and Walton Enterprises office buildings.
