Position Description

The Principal, IT Product Management provides strategic leadership for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of money movement products and online banking platform capabilities and supporting infrastructure. Works across Lines of Business to achieve key business objectives, translates customer and business needs into product solutions using qualitative and quantitative insights, and leads multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-impact capabilities. Serves as a trusted advisor and technical point of contact for business and operations stakeholders.

Sub-Family Definition

Product Management is responsible for driving business growth through the strategic management and development of products and services. Activities may include:



  • Conducting market research to identify customer needs and preferences
  • Defining product vision and strategy
  • Overseeing the product lifecycle from conception to launch
  • Analyzing product performance metrics
  • P&L oversight and pricing strategy
  • Collaboration with marketing and sales teams to create promotional materials and ensure successful product positioning in the market


Career Specialization Definition

The IT Product Management participates in the IT leadership and relationship management discussion about the shape and content of the IT service portfolio delivered by the shared service organization. Work may include:



  • Defines the nature and scope of the service, and works with other planning roles, relationship managers and capacity planners to forecast demand for each service.
  • Defines a cost allocation, cost recovery and pricing plan within the overall context of the IT chargeback or pricing model.
  • Negotiates with other IT product managers about the allocation of costs from infrastructure components or services that are shared among multiple services.
  • Regularly creates a service improvement plan in terms of people, processes and technology to improve a service.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Typically requires 6 - 8+ years prior experience, with deep knowledge of job area
  • Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs and translate insights into product enhancements and business value
  • Ability to align product strategy and execution with business objectives, key performance indicators, and stakeholder priorities
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to leverage technology solutions and collaborate effectively with engineering teams and third-party vendors
  • Systems thinking and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate interconnected processes, platforms, and dependencies
  • Proven ability to influence, collaborate, and drive outcomes across cross-functional teams and stakeholder groups
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present strategies, recommendations, and product updates to senior leadership
