What You'll Do

As the NDE Engineer Level IV, you will serve as a leading technical authority, applying deep expertise in nondestructive inspection of shipboard and naval systems.

Primary Responsibilities


  • Developing, implementing, and validating NDE methods aligned with Navy standards and mission requirements.
  • Designing high precision inspection protocols and interpreting complex data to ensure structural integrity and fleet safety.
  • Troubleshooting material anomalies and recommending corrective engineering actions.
  • Leading technical projects, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with Navy program managers, quality teams, and command stakeholders.
  • Supporting technology insertion initiatives and advancing innovative NDE capabilities that enhance fleet readiness and lifecycle sustainment.


Security Clearance Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics from an ABET accredited institution
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Navy and commercial NDT/E standards and specifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering/research design, experimental design, or trade off studies.


Preferred Qualifications

  • NDT certifications (VT, PT, MT, UT, RT, ET)
  • Experience with Probability of Detection (POD) methodologies
  • Fleet maintenance or shipyard NDT experience


Physical Demands and Expectations

  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, and standing; frequent periods of prolonged sitting may be required.
  • Maneuvering around tight spaces in a shipboard environment.
  • Ability to speak, read, hear, and write, with or without assistance.
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment.
