Please note that this position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Goldbelt Professional Services specializes in providing expert resources for Public Health missions including scientific, technical, and administrative support from junior staff to high-level subject matter experts. Research and data driven, Goldbelt Professional Services' experts create solutions customized to the client's needs. Summary: Goldbelt Professional Services is seeking a Data Analyst I to provide data management and analytic expertise support to the Epidemiology Research and Innovations Branch (ERIB).
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Apply data management and analytic expertise to work with administrative and other data sources, including electronic healthcare data across settings.
- Create and submit well-formatted, documented SAS code or code in other languages/platforms (Decipher, Spark, R, SQL) for quality control and data manipulation, generating standard reports and analytical files, and performing quality reviews and cleaning.
- Create and submit SAS/R code or other code for statistical and epidemiological analyses, including frequency analyses, 2x2 analyses, and multivariable regression models.
- Facilitate programming and data management for analyses leading to scientific publications; prepare tables and charts for presentations and publications.
- Develop data dictionaries and data management documents in conjunction with principal investigators.
- Aid acquisitions and renewals of administrative data sources by developing data request packages, data use agreements, and research approvals.
- Communicate with internal and external project leaders and partners and respond to assistance requests.
- Develop and maintain project/product databases, SharePoint sites, Teams, and data visualization tools for internal and partner communication.
- Participate with scientists and program consultants in project development and evaluation, including literature reviews and summary preparation.
- Participate in meetings, conferences, and 1-2 site visits to ensure communication and standardized protocol interpretation.
- Participate during CDC response activities and training exercises under direction of the DHQP Team Lead; duties include staffing the EOC desk to help support CDC's mission.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods, and techniques of public health research and evaluation to analyze, evaluate, and provide expert advice and consultation.
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, applications, and state-of-the-art technology in the position's scientific area of responsibility to provide direction and guidance on critical and complex issues.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing to make clear, convincing presentations.
- Knowledge of the rules, procedures, and principles that govern intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).
- Excellent judgment and decision-making; capable of working independently with ability to multitask successfully.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.
- Highly organized with great attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree plus 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a relevant public health or quantitative field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced skills in generating SAS-based reports using various methods (e.g., PROC REPORT, PROC TABULATE).
- Advanced EXCEL skills, including PivotTables, conditional formatting, data visualization, and data validation.
- Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.
Pay and Benefits The salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 annually. At Goldbelt, we value and reward our team's dedication and hard work.
