Description

Under the direction of the Lead Actuary, the Senior Healthcare Business/Economic Analyst plays an important role in supporting healthcare finance, operations, and performance improvement initiatives, with a primary focus on Medicare Advantage and other risk-based programs.

In this role, you will:

*Analyze complex financial, clinical, claims, enrollment, utilization, and operational data

*Uncover trends and identify key performance drivers

*Develop forecasting and financial models

*Evaluate business performance

*Deliver actionable recommendations

*Support strategic planning and informed decision-making

*Collaborate with partners across finance, operations, population health, contracting, and analytics

*Serve as a trusted resource in healthcare economics, reimbursement methodologies, value-based care, and decision-support analysis

Salary Range: $88,900 - $190,300/annually

Qualifications

We're seeking a detail-oriented professional with:

Required:

*A Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, economics, business, finance, healthcare administration, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
*5 or more years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare analytics, healthcare finance, managed care, healthcare economics, decision support, or business analysis
*Thorough understanding of decision support systems, business statistics, quantitative methods, relational databases, data modeling, and performance and profitability analysis
*Knowledgeable in healthcare finance, financial planning, financial data management, reimbursement methodologies, and business development analytics
*Applies experience analyzing healthcare financial, clinical, claims, enrollment, utilization, and operational data to support decision-making
*Proficiency in developing and maintaining decision-support models, dashboards, and reporting solutions using multiple-data sources
*Advanced knowledge of forecasting, trend analysis, regression analysis, financial modeling, utilization analysis, and performance measurement methodologies
*Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with ability to synthesize complex datasets into actionable recommendations
*Proficient with SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, SAS, R, Python or similar analytics tool
*Communicates complex financial, operational, and technical information clearly through reports, presentations, and stakeholder discussions
*Collaborates effectively with senior leaders, clinicians, operational stakeholders, and cross-functional project teams

*Adapts within evolving healthcare, operational and regulatory enviornments

Preferred:

*A Master's degree in business administration (MBA), public health (MPH), health economics, statistics, analytics, or related field
*Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA)
*Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Certification
*Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)
*Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) or related actuarial credential
*Tableau, Power BI, SAS, or similar analytics certification
*Knowledgeable of Medicare Advantage, Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MAPD), risk adjustment, value-based care, and population health management principles
*Ability to apply experience supporting integrated delivery systems, physician groups, health plans, academic medical centers, or managed care organizations
