POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • Performs detailed inspections of manufactured mechanical parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies using precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators to verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish.
  • Programs and performs inspections using a CMM.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings and specifications to understand required quality standards for each component.
  • Identifies potential defects such as dimensional deviations, surface imperfections, misalignments, and material inconsistencies during inspection process.
  • Maintains detailed inspection records, documenting any non-conformances, and generating clear inspection reports outlining findings and corrective action recommendations.
  • Ensures proper calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment to maintain accuracy.
  • Monitors adherence to relevant quality standards and regulations, including safety guidelines.
  • Collaborates with production teams to address quality concerns, identify root causes of defects, and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.
  • Provides support to Quality Engineers.
  • Participates as quality representative on cross-functional teams.
  • Prepares First Article Inspection reports in accordance with AS9102 and customer requirements.
  • Participates as an internal auditor.

QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY:

  • Desired: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Desired: A minimum of 1+ years in a manufacturing environment, with focus in mechanical, or other technical disciplines.
  • Required: Working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Required: Able to communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Required: Able to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of personnel in the company.
  • Desired: Proficient in CMM programming with PCDMIS
  • Desired: Working knowledge of Quality systems, procedures, specifications and organization including knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 standards, Lean Principles, Quality Tools.
  • Required: Able to perform daily work assignments with limited supervision, both independently and as a team member
  • Required: Strong understanding of mechanical principles, manufacturing processes, and quality control methodologies.
  • Required: Proficiency in using various precision measuring instruments and interpreting their readings accurately.
  • Required: Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Desired: Good visual acuity and meticulous attention to detail to detect even minor discrepancies.
  • Desired: Ability to analyze inspection data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Desired: Familiar with GD&T
