Position Title: Press Operator
Wage: $45,760.00-$72,800.00/year Shift: 1st Hours: 6:00am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday, Potential for OT on Fridays Have experience setting up punch presses and progressive dies? Put your skills to work! We're looking for a Setup Operator to set up, adjust, and operate punch presses while producing high-quality metal-stamped parts. If you're mechanically minded, know your way around a punch press, and take pride in producing quality parts, this could be your next opportunity! Press Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Set up progressive dies in punch presses to prepare for production runs - Assemble, install, and align dies in the press according to specification - Adjust ram to specified length - Operate punch presses to produce metal stamped parts that meet blueprint specifications - Feed steel to the die using the straightener making necessary adjustments - Submit first off sample to QA for approval - Make necessary adjustments to equipment to maintain product quality and efficiency - Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area - Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals - Perform basic measurements and monitoring with caliper, micrometer, scale, and gauges - Other duties as required Press Operator Requirements: - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred; or 1-3 months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals; filling out production and shipping reports and labels - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; understand and read blueprints - Ability to understand written, verbal or diagrammed instructions - Frequently walk or stand for long periods of time for up to 10 hours a day - Ability to use hands/fingers to handle, feel, and reach - Occasionally bend, stoop, crawl, or kneel - Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force to regularly lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects; if greater than 50 pounds, will require assistance or the use of lifting equipment IND999 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
