Looking for Metal Shop Fabrication Management jobs in Alexandria where you can lead from the floor and keep production moving? Staffmark is seeking an experienced individual to support and oversee metal shop and fabrication operations. This position requires a combination of hands-on metal fabrication experience, electrical knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and shop leadership/management experience.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working alongside employees while also coordinating shop activities, maintaining workflow, assisting with technical issues, and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently.

Education Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree, technical training, manufacturing coursework, or leadership development training is preferred.



Experience Requirements


  • Minimum 2 years of metal fabrication experience
  • Previous shop leadership, supervisory, or management experience
  • Electrical knowledge and hands-on electrical experience required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills


Job Duties


  • Oversee daily metal fabrication and shop operations
  • Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Coordinate workflow, projects, and employee assignments
  • Monitor quality, safety, and production timelines
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
  • Train and support shop employees
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and material inventory


Preferred Qualifications



  • Two or more years of manufacturing, warehouse, or production experience is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory, team lead, shift lead, or production leadership experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, production metrics, scheduling, or quality systems is beneficial.
  • Experience coordinating with maintenance, quality, warehouse, engineering, or other operational departments is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who are dependable, proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to motivate a diverse production team are well positioned for success as a Metal Shop Fabrication Manager.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required.
  • Previous metal fabrication experience required.
  • Electrical knowledge and hands-on electrical experience required.
  • Ability to accurately use measuring tools.
  • Ability to operate applicable fabrication and shop equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead employees while remaining hands-on with shop operations.


Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to stand and walk throughout production areas for extended periods during the shift.
  • Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs, and move throughout manufacturing or warehouse environments as required.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely work around production machinery, material handling equipment, noise, and other conditions common to manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to remain active on the production floor while monitoring employees, equipment, safety, quality, and workflow.
