Detailed Description

* Lead, coach, and develop shipping, receiving, and logistics associates while establishing priorities, communicating operational requirements, and monitoring team performance.

* Coordinate domestic and international shipments with manufacturing, supply chain, sales, field personnel, and global districts to support operational and customer requirements.

* Manage urgent and time-sensitive customer shipments while balancing cost, delivery performance, compliance, and customer expectations.

* Oversee import and export documentation, customs clearance activities, and country-specific shipping requirements to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

* Maintain accurate shipping, customs, and transportation records to support regulatory compliance and audit requirements.

* Manage U.S.-Canada cross-border shipments and maintain knowledge of applicable customs, transportation, and trade requirements.

* Coordinate review of tariff classifications, country of origin documentation, customs value determinations, Incoterms, duties, tariffs, and trade program eligibility requirements.

* Work with customs brokers and internal stakeholders to resolve shipment issues and ensure compliance prior to shipment execution.

* Manage relationships with freight carriers, couriers, hot-shot providers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.

* Participate in transportation provider selection, contract negotiations, rate reviews, and performance evaluations in partnership with the Supply Chain Manager.

* Collaborate closely with manufacturing and field operations teams to execute critical and expedited shipments.

* Evaluate transportation options based on delivery performance, safety, compliance, reliability, and cost effectiveness.

* Monitor freight spend, premium freight costs, customs delays, documentation accuracy, on-time delivery metrics, and service provider performance.

* Identify and implement process improvements that enhance logistics efficiency, service levels, compliance, and cost control.

* Oversee employee timecards and follow company approval procedures.

* Promote and enforce all company safety policies, procedures, and operational standards.

* Participate in all required meetings, training, and development activities.

* Ability to communicate, including the ability to read, write, and speak English and promptly follow verbal and written directions in English.

* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

* Working knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations and U.S.-Canada cross-border shipping requirements.

* Experience managing freight carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers.

* Strong understanding of customs documentation, tariff classifications, duties, Incoterms, and international shipping compliance.

* Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.

* Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate logistics performance, control costs, and identify process improvements.

* Experience with ERP systems, transportation management systems, or related logistics technologies preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

* Minimum of five years of progressive logistics experience.

* Direct experience managing international import/export shipments and customs processes.

* Working knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations and cross-border logistics requirements.

* Proven leadership experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.

Additional Details

This position supports domestic and international logistics operations and may require occasional travel as well as work outside normal business hours to support urgent customer and operational shipments. Experience with U.S. tariffs, HTS classification, USMCA, Incoterms, oil and gas service operations, ERP or transportation systems, and hazardous or oversized shipments is preferred. The Logistics Manager must maintain a strong focus on safety, compliance, customer service, and operational excellence while supporting business objectives across global logistics activities.
