Security Officer Full Time - Utility Company

As a Security Officer Full Time Entry Authorization in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Security Officer at a utilities location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide professional customer service. You will help maintain a secure environment through clear communication, accurate reporting, and a visible presence that helps deter security-related incidents. Pay Rate: $18.30 - $19.30 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Monitor access points, verify identification and authorization credentials, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and vehicle entry records.
• Operate access control systems, cameras, alarms, and communications equipment; report equipment concerns and unusual activity according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency services when directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, operational areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized entry and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A valid guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
