USfalcon has an exciting opportunity for a Military Operations Planner, Senior to support USSTRATCOM at Offutt AFB, NE.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Military Operations Planner develops, analyzes, and refines operational and strategic-level plans supporting USSTRATCOM core missions. This includes conducting graduate-level analysis, synthesizing Joint doctrine, aligning plans with national-level strategies, and producing senior-level briefings and written products. The planner integrates National Military Strategy, Joint Staff guidance, CCMD campaign plans, and USSTRATCOM operations into coherent planning frameworks that support exercises, operations, and realworld contingencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:



  • Apply expert knowledge of Joint Operations Planning Process (JOPP), deterrence theory, strategic environment analysis, and planning-in-crisis methodologies
  • Develop, refine, and maintain campaign and operations assessments; enter logical, defendable assessments into applicable databases
  • Produce graduate-level quality briefs and written reports with in-depth analysis supported by research and operational data
  • Conduct mission analysis for CCMD-level operations, activity, and investment (OAI) planning teams
  • Collaborate with OSW, Joint Staff, CCMDs, Interagency partners, and international organizations on operational planning and assessment integration
  • Develop strategytotask frameworks linking national-level guidance to operational and tactical actions
  • Participate in wargames, exercises, operational planning teams, and crisis action planning reviews
  • Support briefing preparation and presentation of assessment findings to senior leaders
  • Maintain a working knowledge of National Defense Strategy, Unified Command Plan, Nuclear Posture Review, Joint Strategic Campaign Plans, and related strategic documents


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Minimum 12 years of practical Department of War military operations experience
  • At least 3 years working at the Office of the Secretary of War, Joint Staff, CCMD, Service, or MAJCOM
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an operations planner
  • Operations center experience required (e.g., GOC, command center, battle staff)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain accountability for classified material


PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Experience supporting strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, global strike, or major combat operations planning
  • Experience producing senior-level operational estimates, orders, and strategic documents
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate diplomatic, informational, military, and economic factors into planning
  • JPME II Graduate (highly desired)


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:



  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
