Overview

The Sales Analyst will create standardized & custom reports, conduct quantitative product sales / inventory analysis, providing support for internal, retailer & consumer promotions. They must develop standardized tools, methodologies and business processes aimed at improving key customer in stock metrics, as well as, assist with forecast analysis for internal operational planning. Position responsibilities include collaborating with a team developing category recommendations through detailed analytical support focusing on inventory control, product mix, merchandising and advertising metric performance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, evaluate and report data in order to increase sales productivity

  • Assess sales and inventory trends to evaluate performance measured against customer KPIs

  • Assist Account Manager in collecting and analyzing data for sales trends and forecasting

  • Analyze line of business operations (product lines, stores, etc.) to determine profitability and to establish a baseline for action and operational changes

  • Generate ad hoc reporting for Sales and Marketing

  • Serve as a resource to Field Sales Team in providing regional POS and inventory data

  • Work with Supply Chain Team as it relates to forecasting by providing them with the necessary information and guidance for short and long-range forecast

  • Customer facing role requiring the ability to effectively communicate / articulate product performance measures with customer's corporate merchandising and logistics teams

  • Analyze information and with support and guidance develop recommendations to drive future sales, improve margins and increase inventory turns

  • Monitor SKU replenishment standards and status

  • Advise on category inventory levels and partner to recommend appropriate inventory levels to achieve optimal profitability, ensure maximum turn and in-stock positioning

  • Support strategic planning functions including identifying key advertising drivers for sales development

  • Leverage analytical skills to identify shortage opportunities, uncovering root causes, proposing solutions and driving change

  • Maintain effective working relationships with H.B. Fuller and suppliers, and customers; promote and maintain the professional image and reputations of the company; work to ensure customer satisfaction

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, IT, or Sciences

  • Proficiency in MS Office Products - spreadsheet, word processing, presentations

  • Ability to communicate effectively. Coachable on communicating with all levels within the organization and external customer contacts

  • Developing competency in analytical, tactical and strategic abilities

  • Team approach to accomplishing goals

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks / strong organizational skills

  • Travel required + 10%

  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work successfully without close supervision

  • Attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and thorough work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with big box retailers in similar role

  • Familiarity with web based POS and inventory data retrieval systems

  • Expertise with Product Content Management functions and processes

  • Flooring Industry background / knowledge

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $65,000 - $85,000.
