The Surveying and Geomatics Business Unit is seeking a Survey and Geomatics Client Team Leader in Portland, OR.

The Survey and Geomatics Client Team Leader will lead business development and client growth efforts for our Survey and Geomatics practice. This role will focus primarily on developing and expanding client relationships, generating new business opportunities, leading strategic pursuits, and converting opportunities into sales.

This role will work closely with DEA's technical and business development teams to identify target clients and markets, develop pursuit strategies, position DEA for future work, and strengthen relationships with existing clients. This individual will serve as a trusted client partner, helping connect client needs with DEA's survey and geomatics capabilities.

What You'll Do Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and expand relationships with key clients and targeted prospects, generating new business opportunities and converting leads into sales for DEA's Survey and Geomatics practice.
  • Develop and execute strategic client, market, and pursuit plans in partnership with Survey leadership and regional business development teams.
  • Serve as a pursuit champion, leading strategic pursuits from early positioning through proposal development, scope and fee preparation, interviews, selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Build a strong understanding of clients' businesses, priorities, and upcoming programs to identify opportunities, strengthen client satisfaction, and expand DEA's services and relationships.
  • Partner with technical and project leadership to ensure continuity from pursuit through project delivery while supporting established sales goals, forecasts, and other business development objectives.
What You Bring Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in surveying, engineering consulting, infrastructure, or a related professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated success developing client relationships, generating new business opportunities, and converting leads into sales within the AEC industry.
  • Experience leading pursuits and developing proposals, scopes, fees, and project budgets.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand client needs, develop effective strategies, and collaborate with technical teams, project managers, and leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Established client relationships within markets that utilize survey and geomatics services.
  • Demonstrated success generating repeat business, expanding existing client accounts, and developing relationships with new clients.
  • Experience developing business within energy/renewables, utilities, transportation, land development, or other infrastructure markets.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the United States.
  • Familiarity with survey and geomatics services, including boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, construction, and geospatial technologies.
