Join our team as a Leasing Specialist at Modello Homes! Gorman & Company is looking for a Leasing Specialist to join the team at Modello Homes, a 100-unit affordable housing community featuring LIHTC and Project-Based Voucher (PBV) programs. If you enjoy connecting with people, creating positive resident experiences, and helping prospective residents find a place to call home, this role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community. What You'll Do
Serve as a welcoming and knowledgeable resource for prospective and current residents, providing exceptional customer service throughout the leasing and resident experience. Lead leasing activities including responding to inquiries, conducting community tours, following up with prospects, processing applications, preparing lease documentation, and supporting renewals. Support the community's marketing and outreach efforts by maintaining knowledge of available apartments, pricing, amenities, and community features and conducting market and competitor research. Assist with LIHTC and PBV compliance requirements, including resident certifications, interviews, documentation, and communication with the Compliance Department. Support move-in and move-out activities, including inspections, unit turnover coordination, resident communications, and scheduling with maintenance or vendors. Maintain accurate resident records, applications, files, and documentation while ensuring compliance with Fair Housing and applicable housing regulations. Provide administrative and operational support to the community, including responding to calls and inquiries, processing service requests, assisting with rent collection, preparing resident notices, and supporting property inspections and overall curb appeal.
What You'll Bring
At least one year of leasing, sales, customer service, or related experience; affordable housing or property management experience is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach. Ability to build positive relationships with a diverse group of residents, prospects, vendors, and team members. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when handling applications, resident records, and compliance documentation. Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a property management team. Valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and a motor vehicle record that meets company insurance requirements. Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends based on community needs.
